The presentation will be about the evolution of the investigative response by the motor unit in relation to vehicle theft over the last few years. Traditionally the unit investigated complex level motor vehicle rebirthing and high-level motor vehicle theft for profit. During 2023, as a result of a number of Organised Crime Networks involvement in Murder, Kidnappings and Public Place Shootings the Motor unit was tasked with investigating the organised vehicle theft that played a significant role in how these offences were carried out. The Motor Unit was required to quickly adapt to a multi-faceted, fast paced organised crime environment, and change their investigative techniques and skill set to be dynamic and flexible to address, investigate and disrupt the use of stolen motor vehicles in these offences.
A lunch comprising hot, cold and sweet items, along with coffee, tea, herbal infusions, orange juice, and soft drinks is provided as part of your registration.

The presentation will show the current capabilities of our ANPR. Delegates who have some knowledge of ANPR may be surprised how ANPR can be leveraged to better support law enforcement by prediction interdiction as well as being able to support criminal investigations. Our company also has some relatively new technology that has a synergy with ANPR cameras to identify vehicles and potentially occupants who may try to otherwise escape identification. ANPR is so much more than simply being a ‘traffic tool’ for police in the same way a smart phone does so much more than just making phone calls.
